- We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to help design, build, and scale the next generation of automation systems in Controlled Environment Agriculture. You’ll work hands-on with complex electrical systems — from concept to deployment — and play a key role in making our technology safe, reliable, and scalable.
- In this role, you’ll collaborate with experts across software, mechanics, electronics and robotics. You’ll take ownership of electrical designs and ensure seamless integration within our robotic platforms.
- You report to the Head of Engineering and will be instrumental in both detailed design and system-level thinking.
- Your role includes the following responsibilities:
- Designing Robust Electrical Systems
- • Select and specify electrical components for scalable system designs
- • Design electrical schematics and wiring harnesses using EPLAN
- • Build prototypes and validate wiring in real-world setups
- • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure scalability
- Ensuring Safety & Compliance
- • Ensure compliance with electrical standards across the EU, US, and Canada
- • Integrate safety principles into system design from the ground up
- • Contribute to functional safety concepts and validation
- Managing Documentation & Quality
- • Maintain accurate design documentation (BOMs, schematics, timelines)
- • Track version history and document engineering changes
- • Conduct QA testing to ensure system functionality and safety
- • Report findings and communicate results to stakeholders
- Collaborating Across Disciplines
- • Work closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, and system architects
- • Ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader platforms
- • Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices
- YOUR PROFILE
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or similar
- • Experience with EPLAN
- • Knowledge of IEC 60204-1 - Electrical Equipment of Machines
- • Strong understanding of electrical systems and DFM principles
- • You work independently and communicate clearly across teams
- • You enjoy hands-on engineering and solving complex technical challenges
- • You thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment
- • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written)
- • Familiarity with international standards (EU, US, Canada)
- Nice to have
- • Knowledge of ISO12100 and ISO13849
- • Knowledge of CSA22.2 No 301 - Industrial Electrical Machinery
- • Knowlede of NFPA 79 - Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
- • Experience with Sistema or similar software for evaluation of machine safety
- • Experience with Safety PLCs
- • Familiarity with UL3100 and ISO3691-4
