Business Control and Operations Specialist - Brussels - Banking

Our client is an innovative financial services institution operating in the Belgian market. Through a strong customer-centric and digital approach, they provide a range of financial solutions while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

To support their continued growth, they are currently looking for a Business Support & Operations Specialist to join their team in Brussels.

• Own and oversee critical operational processes and control frameworks
• Act as the escalation point for complex operational cases and policy-related decisions
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, AML/KYC, GDPR and regulatory requirements
• Manage sensitive customer and account-related operations
• Prepare and analyse KPI, SLA and regulatory reporting
• Drive process improvement initiatives and operational excellence
• Participate in audits, investigations and risk mitigation activities
• Support the implementation of new products, systems and operational changes
• Develop procedures and provide training to operational teams

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent through experience
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience within banking, financial services, insurance, or another highly regulated environment
• Solid understanding of retail banking operations and customer lifecycle processes
• Experience in AML/KYC, compliance, operational risk management, or process governance
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Experience with reporting, performance monitoring, and data analysis
• Knowledge of CRM systems, workflow tools, and financial services operations
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented approach
• Ability to manage complex cases while balancing regulatory requirements and customer experience
• Fluency in Dutch or French with professional proficiency in Dutch or French and English
